Concord world travel needed a solution to create quotation for the Tahiti travel package. A javascript enhance user interface to find and filter from thousands of products for a fast, efficient, point and click quotation creation process.
The Tahiti quotation project is for Concord world travel employee use only and is not open to the public.
Concord World Travel is a travel agency in Los Angeles with 4 web sites all built with Radria.
Concord world travel receive quotes requests from its web sites or from paper advertising. The quotes generation process is manual and would need to use a database in order to improve speed and efficiency.
The manual process involved browsing paper catalogs for products and prices then enter the prices in an Excel sheet for calculation and send by fax or email to the customer.
This process was slow and prone to numerous pricing errors. Prices grid could be mis-read and as prices are in different currencies conversion errors were easy.
The excel format and fax communication slowed down the sales process with readability and incompatibility issues.
The implementation includes a database with a fast search and access to all the products with a point and click quotation creation.

A back-end administration uses the Ajax technology to enable fast editing of the product pricing.
A vendor module was implemented to send the products ordered by the customer to the vendors directly from the quotation system.
Now a full quotation can be created 10 times faster with accurate calculations and sent to the customer in minutes.
The quotation can be sent to the customer from the application, edited and transformed into an invoice.
As the application is web based it can be used by anyone in the office or on the road to create quotations without additional software to install.
