I had the opportunity to spend some time with Jose DaVeiga in his home in west LA for an interview on how Klicksports came to be, and for a demo of the technology.

In this interview, Jose reveals how, inspired by the promises of interactive TV, he invented the perfect interactive platform for sports games in 2001 and made it a reality five years later.
Jose is from Portugal. Immersed in technology since he was 8 years old, he came to the United States in 1997 to work for technology companies. The Klicksports concept was invented in 2001 but the company execution was put on hold until 2006. In the mean time, Jose finished his PhD in architecture and built a couple of buildings in Los Angeles.
Klicksports is very engaging when interacting with live sports games. You subscribe to a game, and when something is about to happen you receive an SMS with a question on the outcome.
Today’s Klicksports technology is fully automated; it gathers data from live sports games, and analyzes the associated, relevant questions that are then sent to fans via SMS, Instant Message, web, twitter, et al …
